WTD 2010 postcardYou can now download your World Thinking Day 2010 card to send to your friends around the world.

At the same time, you can show your support for WAGGGS and contribute to the WTD theme, girls worldwide say “together we can end extreme poverty and hunger,” by donating £1, $1 or €1.

Your donation will help provide your sister Girl Guides and Girl Scouts opportunities that can change their lives, from leadership training courses across the five regions, volunteer opportunities at World Centres, being a delegate at international advocacy events and developing and implementing grass roots projects to help achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

For 2010 we are highlighting the difference Girl Guiding/Girl Scouting makes and the ways it challenges poverty in five countries*. The five countries, one from each of our regions are:

Girl Guides and Girl Scouts have also always served others in their communities – offering help and support to those less fortunate than them.  So please continue this tradition by downloading your World Thinking Day 2010 card and donating £1, $1 €1or another amount to WAGGGS.  There are plenty of other ways to get involved – why not check out the activities or fundraising sections of the WTD website?

Do you have a World Thinking Day card? Send it to us and we will publish it on the World Thinking Day.

We didn't have "Worl Thinking Day" when I was in Girl Scouts from 1958-1968, but we certainly learned to help others in our communities. I love that evokes global thinking and I am so glad to be a part of it with my granddaughter in Brownie Troop 444 in Metairie (suburb of New Orleans), La. Tonight she and I together will do some research about the highlighted countries and hopefully be able to make a contribution here on-line. The link did not work when I tried just now.
