Our Chalet
Staff team and guests at Our Chalet celebrated World Thinking Day 2009 under a sparkling starlit sky and surrounded by snow covered mountain peaks.
Participant lit candles individually and dedicated the light to someone they knew in Guiding or Scouting around the world. All the candles were in a shape of the trefoil. Finally, they had a discussion indoors around their knowledge and experience of malaria and other diseases as many of them have lived overseas. They also played some of the World Thinking Day games that are available on the website: mosquito game and coughs and sneezes.

There was also a Thinking Day Ceremony in Sangam’s Thinking Day Courtyard where we reflected upon the meaning of this special day, which is to think about our sisters and brothers around the world, how the Movement has evolved in the past century and how it constantly develops to offer the future generations the amazing opportunities it has offered during almost one hundred years.
Our Cabaña
World Thinking Day at Our Cabaña was celebrated on 22 February with a morning of activities for 93 participants of the Butterfly event plus 120 Mexican Guides from the local area.
The participants and the Guias split into groups and did activities based around the theme girls worldwide say "Stop the spread of AIDS, malaria and other diseases", specially prepared by the Our Cabaña volunteers.
During the morning they came together to have a short Thinking Day service and handed out Thinking Day badges. They also enjoyed some traditional Mexican snacks and dancing. Participants got together around the Our Cabaña fountain where money was donated for the Thinking Day fund. Leaders from the Mexican Guides also sold food and drink to raise funds.
Pax Lodge
Pax Lodge celebrated World Thinking Day 2009 by holding international activities for around 300 people over the weekend of 21 and 22 February.More than 140 people attended the indoor campfire on Saturday night and there was a ceremony on Thinking Day itself where they thought about this international Movement and reflected on their individual and collective impact and what they can do to change the world. These were attended by people from, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Benin, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Slovakia, South Korea, the UK and the USA.
Everyone had the opportunity to renew their promises in their own languages to pledge to do their best.
